Spinosaurus is a well known carnivorous dinosaur, thanks largely to its appearance as the main villain in the film Jurassic Park III. Over the last few years a number of model manufacturers have produced scale models of this remarkable Theropod, an animal that according to some scientists may have been the biggest meat-eating dinosaur known in the fossil record to date. With some palaeontologists estimating the length of certain species of Spinosaur at over 17 metres, this dinosaur has become a firm favourite with collectors and model makers alike. In this article, we compare and contrast two Spinosaurus models, one from Safari Carnegie of the United States, the other from Schleich of Germany.
